Seven of us came to your production last Saturday evening of The Mikado. At first we were a bit disappointed that it was in modern dress but soon got used to it and thought the production, the costumes and the players absolutely wonderful. It was as good as a West End production. Thank you very much for a really enjoyable evening. Jennifer Carr was outstanding, but everyone’s performance was excellent.  Mrs Valerie Kershaw

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your performance of the Mikado last Friday. The singing and acting was of such high standard (especially Koko, Yum Yum and Peep Bo). But the direction was brilliant – I loved the fact that the chorus really acted while singing and listening, and the little touches such as the “Brightly dawns..” with each singer quite still while Peep Bo added refreshment. And the costumes all tying in together. Very very impressive! (I don’t know anybody in cast or crew so I am not affected by any personal bias!) Thank you. Catherine

Well done for creating such an excellent rendition of a great work! Having been the Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance last summer with the recently-formed Chiltern Community Opera in Aylesbury (and having missed your production last year… now kicking myself for it), I’m glad that I saw the Thursday Friday night performance of Mikado. Your Koko was outstanding in his characterisation, as was your Pooh-bah and Peeb-bo. The voice of your Yum-yum was excellent too! I’m sharing the role of Pooh-bah myself later this year, so may borrow from a master, if you don’t mind! Thank you for quality amateur entertainment; if ours could be only ten percent of what you have achieved, then we will have done very well!      David

Last night I had the honour and I do mean honour to see the wonderful cast of “The Mikado” at the Watford Palace Theatre. Shame it was their last night. Those who saw their modern twist on a classic G&S show will agree. What a show! Those of you who thought about coming, but didn’t. Well what can I say. You missed out! So in future, I strongly suggest you don’t miss future performances of Abbots Langley G&S society. Well done one and all just brilliant. Mark Bilsby – Radio Verulam

Four of us came to see tonight’s performance – it was an incredible modernised production…love G&S and this delivered on every level…timing was great for the comedy and with a modern twist, selfies, iPad’s and even a Segway hit the stage and seemed just right for this interpretation…fun..! Well done to the cast and crew and keeping an eye out for the next production…a great evening…! Gordon Pownell via Facebook

Congratulations ALGSS, a thoroughly entertaining evening. Excellent performances throughout. Loved the modern references, great idea and very funny – Adrian Barrett via Facebook

Congratulations! Travelled over from Cork to see Mikado. I’ve seen and/or been part of many amateur productions in Ireland UK and US over the past 40 years, and never enjoyed a production so much. Your director, in particular, your cast, especially Koko, deserve the highest possible praise for the clever staging and really superb ‘business’, allied to excellent musicality. I recently saw a cinema showing of the ENO production, and found yours much, much better, especially in the staging and costuming. Bravo Abbots Langley G&S Society!! – John from Cork
